In addressing reporters at Halas Hall on Wednesday, Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus mentioned that Keenan Allen was a limited participant during practice.

It's an encouraging first step to seeing Allen be active for the Bears' Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Allen. hasn't been able to practice in each of the past two weeks, forcing him to miss the games against the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.

Allen's return will not be a cure-all for the offensive issues the Bears have had this season, but it could correct some of the personnel decisions. One of the surprising elements of the Bears' offense through the first three weeks of this season is that DeAndre Carter is not only getting offensive snaps but is also being regularly targeted. Allen's return should see him return to being on the opposite side of DJ Moore with Rome Odunze moving inside.

The Bears' Week 4 injury update also provides some potential answers to Darnell Wright's struggles to open the season. Wright was expected to take a leap forward in his second season in the NFL but has struggled. Wright's struggles come at an inopportune time for the Bears, considering the lack of stability the offensive line has had as a whole.

Wright's injury could be what leads to Kiran Amegadjie seeing his first extended action. If Wright is unable to play on Sunday. Eberflus suggested that it would be Amegadjie to take over as the team's right tackle. Whole Amegadjie had some promise when being selected by the Bears in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft; the idea was that this season would be a red-shirt year for the rookie. The fact that he now may be thrust into an important spot four weeks into the season does speak to the lack of awareness the front office may have had when constructing the offensive line.
