1. DreMont Jones makes a lot of sense with the Chicago Bears

If the Chicago Bears do spend big. you have to think that DreMont Jones is a name to watch for. Dre'Mont Jones is right there with Zach Allen as an up-and-coming rusher. Still, his flashes have been greater, although Allen may be a better run defender.

Jones has posted 5.5 sacks in the past three years, and put up 6.5 sacks in 2020, and 6.5 sacks in 2022 as well. That is not where you want a player getting high end money to be, but the upside is there and he will just be 26 years old next season. The athletic potential is there and the reality is that he may not have been in the best scheme.

We know Vic Fangio is more about sound defense than sacks and turnovers, and he played Jones more at the 5-technique. The Chicago Bears will push him inside a bit more to the 3-technique and that may unleash his pass rush upside.

If there is a name to bet on for projection, it is Jones. The scheme explains the production and the production looks great in context. The age and athletic profile bring home a player the Chicago Bears may be paying big money to.
