With both Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze listed on the Chicago Bears injury report for their Week 2 game against the Houston Texans, there was some concern that the Bears' offense may not be fully equipped on Sunday night to match the explosiveness of the Texans' offense.
There was encouraging news on Odunze's injury earlier Sunday morning. There seems to be a growing expectation that not only will Odunze play on Sunday against the Texans but he may not be limited by the injury. Despite suffering a Grade 1 MCL Sprain against the Tennessee Titans last week, Odunze suggested on Friday that it was a matter of pain tolerance.
While the trend seems to be that Odunze will be playing on Sunday, it remains uncertain if Allen will be able to give it a go,
Is Keenan Allen playing today?
This is a case where because of the Bears having a Sunday night game, there is a chance that Allen, given the extended prep time, may be able to find a way to play through the injury on Sunday. If this game was a noon start, it seems that Allen would likely be among the inactives for the game. The final answer on whether Allen will be playing will likely not come until closer to 5:45 PM CST. If you have Allen on your fantasy team, you may be better off moving off the Bears' wide receiver for this game.
Even if Allen is able to play on Sunday night, it sounds like he may be used more as a decoy than an actual option in the Bears' passing game. The Bears did elevate Collin Johnson from the practice squad on Saturday, a sign that one of Odunze or Allen may not play today. With Allen being unable to practice throughout the week, it sounds like the Bears' fear lies with Allen.
