The Chicago Bears season is right around the corner. While the Bears are expected to be much better this year, we still do not know how much better they will be. That is the big question, and there are plenty of factors that could change things.

We have discussed Justin Fields, and how he can make or break the Chicago Bears season countless times. So, beyond Fields, and beyond injuries, what are the biggest things standing in front of the Bears in 2023?

3. What if the Chicago Bears cannot figure out their interior offensive line

This one is smacking the Chicago Bears right in the mouth. It is front and center and too obvious not to be a major question mark. All summer the talk about Justin Fields improving centered around the offensive line being better. Now, that is put into major question.

Nate Davis was signed, and he is supposedly healthy. We say that because he has not practiced in a while, although the team makes it seem procedural and that he will be on the field in week one. It would have been nice to see the new free agent right guard responsible for protecting Fields get some work, though.

Teven Jenkins had to move from right guard to the left side with the addition of Nate Davis. Now, he is on the IR and will miss four games. It almost felt like the Bears needed an excuse to move Cody Whitehair back to guard, but his injured hand and the injury to Jenkins made it pretty easy.

Now, at center, they are debating Lucas Patrick, who cannot stay healthy, and Dan Feeney, who may not even be an upgrade over Sam Mustipher. The line gained serious questions very quickly. All three spots could end up worse than the year before. After talk all summer there would not be a single spot worse.
