One of the biggest storylines stemming from Week 4 of the NFL season is the injury that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice suffered against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. The belief is that Rice suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Considering the Chiefs are already without Hollywood Brown this season, early speculation is that Kansas City will explore the trade market to add another wide receiver. Among the early names being speculated about is Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen.

NFL Network's Peter Schrager tossed the idea out there on Monday morning.

If we rewind the clock back to March, then, yes, the Chiefs would likely be interested in trading for Allen. What Schrager seems to be casually forgetting is that Allen's 2024 season has been slowed due to a heel injury. Sunday's victory for the Bears against the Rams was only the second game that Allen has played this season. Even with his return, Allen wasn't much of a factor in the Bears' win. Allen had 3 catches for 18 yards on Sunday.

No, a Keenan Allen trade isn't something the Chicago Bears are interested in.

Looking at it from the Chiefs' perspective, it makes no sense to target Allen given the injury he has been attempting to play through this season.

For the Bears, it makes far less sense. One of the reasons Allen was acquired by the Bears is to give the team a wide receiver room that is far superior to the one they had in recent seasons. Sure, the Bears have Rome Odunze, but again, subtracting Allen from the equation negates what the goal was this past offseason—making life easy for Caleb Williams.

But, as long as we are on the subject of the Chiefs trading for a Bears' wide receiver, Tyler Scott may be a name to keep an eye on. Scott hasn't factored into the Bears' offense this season and has the speed to be an enticing trade target for the Chiefs.
