One problem the Chicago Bears must fix before week 2 game
Week 1 is in the books, and it was a roller coaster of a game for the Chicago Bears. This team learned a lot about itself throughout those four quarters. A lot of what they learned was good, such as the defense is for real and the team has no quit. Some things they learned they need to clean up.
It's no secret the Bears' offense wasn't effective. Whether you watched the game or looked at the stats afterward, the same story is told. The Bears struggled to run the ball and therefore, struggled to open up the passing game.
The good news is it was the first game and a lot of what we saw go wrong seems fixable. One thing that would be nice to see from the Bears in week 2 is to have a more balanced attack. Being able to run the ball with success on early downs will only help Caleb Williams and that passing game get going.
Balance in the passing game is also going to be important. The Chicago Bears went out and got some talent to surround their young promising rookie quarterback. Well, the best way to stay balanced in the passing attack is to spread the ball around. That gets a little more difficult with the Rome Odunze injury but it allows for the Bears to showcase other weapons.
Chicago Bears need to get tight ends more involved in the offense.
One position group that could and should be more utilized in week 2 is the tight-end group. Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett are two very capable tight ends and if utilized correctly, really could help spark this offense. A spark that was quite obviously lacking in week 1.
The key to developing a strong offense for the Bears is to keep the defense guessing. With the right balance and sticking to their game plan, the Bears have the potential to become a dominant offense. If they can achieve this, we might witness a whole new Bears offense in week 2.
