Coming off of a season when they had the first overall pick, it is easy to see the Chicago Bears as an underrated roster. They improved significantly from what they were last year after they spent big in free agency and made big moves in the NFL draft.

Still, while the roster is definitely better, there will always be the overrated player. Who is that the player that fans may love or be hyping up, but in actuality, they may be overrated?

3. Chicago Bears front office does not like Teven Jenkins as much as fans

This has been the case for Teven Jenkins since he was drafted. Heck, it may have been the case before then. Most were shocked when Jenkins fell out of round one and even more surprised that he fell enough for Chicago to trade up for him. Bears fans thought they had their tackle of the future, but that was not the case.

After a first year that was met with injuries, he saw a new front office and coaching staff. This meant going from someone who traded up to ensure he was on the roster to someone who passed on him in the draft. This new regime does not view him the same as in the past.

Teven Jenkins had a shot at left tackle with Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy. He failed out of the left and right tackle jobs with Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus. Even from there, this coaching staff was rotating him in at right guard with Lucas Patrick, while Patrick had a broken finger. They trusted an injured Patrick about as much as Jenkins.

Even when fans thought that Jenkins played well enough to earn the respect of the new staff, they immediately signed a right guard and now have him at left guard. While he is projected to start at left guard, it could be a quick turn before Cody Whitehair is back at guard and Lucas Patrick starts at center. We could even get to training camp to see the Chicago Bears field calls on Teven Jenkins.

Some Chicago Bears fans saw a future left tackle, others saw a stud at right guard, the rest saw a starter. The Chicago Bears coaching staff is apparently lower than most, if not all fan projections of Teven Jenkins.
