5 biggest position of needs after Chicago Bears trade down
The Chicago Bears wanted to get a deal done for the number one overall pick before the start of free agency. Ryan Poles thought he could get a player back in the trade, and did just that by adding D.J. Moore.
This is a huge upgrade at wide receiver and takes this from a position of need to one that does not need to be touched, aside from a possible day-three pick.
Still, while the Chicago Bears checked one box off of their list, they still have plenty of holes. With wide receiver fixed, what are the five most important positions for the Chicago Bears to address?
5. Chicago Bears need a linebacker
The Bears will have to find a linebacker. It will not be the most pressing need, and will not be discussed in the top ten, but whether it is free agency or the draft, this must be addressed. They have Jack Sanborn, and that is about it. Even then, while he did well as a rookie, we are talking about a UDFA who finished the year with an injury.
Sure, they have Sterling Weatherford, but that is special team depth. They need a lot more than that, they need a quality starter. Someone has to replace Nicholas Morrow. Maybe they just re-sign Morrow, and add some depth.
Maybe they sign Bobby Okereke, and that is their big fix. There are going to be plenty of possibilities for how they will go about fixing this area. Whether it is free agency or the NFL draft, the Chicago Bears are going to be adding a linebacker, and possibly two to fill the depth.
