1. Will Chicago Bears complete the line with a center?

The Chicago Bears claim to trust Cody Whitehair as their center for the 2023 NFL season. That would sound great in 2018 or 2019, but Whitehair has suffered injuries in two of the past three seasons, he is starting to get older, and his play has declined as the injuries are catching up to him.

The Bears can say that they trust Whitehair, and he may start week one, but they need a backup plan ready to roll. In a perfect world, this means a center falling 20 more picks to them. The two options that all eyes will be on include John Michael-Schmitz and Joe Tippmann. Both are names that may end with Ryan Poles sprinting to the phones to call in the pick.

If they are both gone, it gets questionable. Some view Cody Mauch as a center in the NFL. Then, there is Luke Wypler and Ricky Stromberg, but the question is whether one of them will fall into the fourth round. This one is more tricky, but it is also the biggest need. If the Chicago Bears do trade up a few spots it may be to lock in one of the top centers he had just discussed.

If the Chicago Bears can walk away from Friday with a starting three-technique, a pass rusher on the edge, and a future center, it would be a perfect draft weekend.
