The quarterback that Caleb Williams has drawn the most comparisons to in the months leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft has been Patrick Mahomes.

It's a comparison that Williams has not been afraid to speak about.

""There's things that he does, physically — obviously, I'm not Patrick Mahomes and I'm not in his brain — but things that he does physically that I don't think that I can't do," Williams said. "So, I just call it respect, and hopefully soon I'll be able to see him and have a good battle [in a game].""

What's interesting is that Williams' draft status as a quarterback prospect is much higher than Mahomes' stock in 2017. Most draft evaluators had Mahomes ranked as the third-best quarterback in the 2017 NFL Draft Class while Williams has been considered by many to be the best quarterback prospect in a draft since Andrew Luck.

It's no secret that the Chicago Bears will be selecting Caleb Williams as the first overall selection in the draft. Despite an uptick in speculation at the start of the offseason that LSU's Jayden Daniels may unseat Williams as the top quarterback in the class, evaluations continue to confirm a fact that has been known for the past two seasons--Williams is the unquestioned best quarterback in this year's draft class.

Super Bowls are in the Chicago Bears' future if the latest Caleb Williams comparison becomes true.

The latest confirmation was provided by Dane Brugler of The Athletic. Brugler released the 2024 version of "The Beast" (Subscription Required) and continued to push the comparisons between Mahomes and Williams.

"Overall, Williams needs to be more consistent working on-schedule from the pocket, but you live with the hiccups because the positives are special with his dynamic passing skills and instinctive ability to create. Though stylistically he is like a really impressive
karaoke-style version of Patrick Mahomes, he is truly unique as a playmaker. "

If Williams is indeed the next Mahomes, Bears fans will be insufferable as they not only will finally see the end of the dreaded quarterback curse but have a future Hall of Famer at the position.
