The Chicago Bears are set to debut an offense in 2024 that the team has never had before.
Backed by three playmaking wide receivers in DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze, the Bears have put rookie starting quarterback Caleb Williams in a tremendous position to succeed during his first year in the NFL.
The addition of Odunze to the Bears' offense has led to some speculation that Moore could be made available in a potential trade for a team looking for an upgrade at the wide receiver position. One team that has been at the center of the unfounded speculation is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers have been linked to San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk throughout the offseason, but as the days pass, it seems more likely that Aiyuk will remain in San Francisco for at least one more season. The Steelers likely will continue their search for a wide receiver but it certainly will not conclude with DJ Moore reuniting with Justin Fields.
DJ Moore is not going anywhere.
The idea of Moore being the third wide receiver on the Bears' depth chart is laughable. It would seem likely Moore will open as the Bears' primary wide receiver, with Odunze starting on the opposite side and Allen playing out of the slot.
Furthermore, it can not be overstated that Allen is a free agent after this season and hasn't played a full season since 2021. Not to mention, for as great as Odunze is projected to be at the NFL level, he is still only in his rookie season.
If anything, Moore is one of the main reasons why Williams is going to have success during his rookie season. Moore has already begun practicing with Williams, and the veteran will likely serve as a safety blanket for the rookie quarterback.
