With two top 10 picks in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears don't have as hard of a choice as fans might think they do with those picks.

The situation they're in with their second No. 1 pick in two years makes this situation unique.

The Chicago Bears' decision at No. 1 and No. 9 are easy, don't overthink it

The Chicago Bears are running out of time on Justin Fields' rookie contract, and while there could be untapped potential in Justin Fields, what he's shown has been inconsistent. Flash plays are sandwiched between plays that leave fans scratching their heads. With new quarterback prospects at the welcoming mat of Halas Hall, theoretically, it might be time for a break-up between Justin Fields and the Bears.

The No. 1 pick gives the Bears a chance of drafting the quarterback they deem as the top quarterback in this draft class.

The Bears could, however, go down a scary path of drafting a quarterback with their No. 9 pick. That could be an option, though, it might cost the Bears to move up from No. 9 to a more quarterback-favorable pick. Considering the draft capital in Ryan Poles' pocket currently, trading up doesn't appear as likely.

Caleb Williams is the consensus top quarterback in this draft class, and he has been for a while now. Every draft analyst with a crumb of credibility has backed the idea that it would shock them if Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears don't draft Caleb Williams with the first pick.

If the Bears draft Williams, or a different quarterback, it makes their decision at No. 9 even easier.

This draft class is deep in areas, however, at the No. 9 position, talent at the position drafted should still be considered elite. If the prospects remaining aren't elite in the eyes of the Chicago Bears, trading down is a must.

However, if any of these prospects are available at No. 9, the choice for Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears is easy. The only thing that makes it more difficult, is if more than one of these prospects are available at No. 9.
