1. Larry Borom and Alex Leatherwood will keep their roles with the Chicago Bears
We fully expected the Chicago Bears to draft a tackle in the top ten. They had a glaring hole at tackle, and they could not wait to see who would slip out of the top 50 to bet on. However, the question was whether they would add more at tackle or not.
The team had enough picks, and the position has enough issues that this was a fair question. However, they went two cornerbacks, and that was the deep part of the class. However, not going with an offensive tackle is what looks like a huge win for not only Larry Borom but also Alex Leatherwood. Both of them are inside the top 53 now.
The thought was that after the 2023 NFL draft, the team may have Borom on the roster edge, and Leatherwood looking from the outside in, but both of them survived. It will be interesting to see if Leatherwood can take any steps after a miserable short sample last season. For Borom, the thought is that he will now be the swing tackle and backup on the left and right side.
