The Chicago Bears are often viewed as a potential trade-down team.
However, with needs spread across their roster, they could trade down in round 1 and give themselves ammo to move around with some of their later picks. If Chicago were to trade down from the 25th pick, which teams would likely be the takers?
Trade down teams for the Chicago Bears to consider
Houston Texans
The Texans could be a perfect trade-back team for the Bears. They are at pick 28, so the drop would not be huge.
However, the Bears could use the drop to pick up a little extra and have more ammo to maneuver elsewhere. The Texans' moving up makes sense as well.
They are conference rivals to the Buffalo Bills, and the two teams have similar needs across the board. Houston could be looking to jump Buffalo and take a player that both teams are interested in. The Bears cannot pass that up if they get the chance.Â
New York Jets
This may end up being one of the more likely scenarios. The Jets need a quarterback, and almost all mock drafts have Alabama's Ty Simpson being available at the 25th overall pick.
Jaxson Dart went 25th last year, and the New York Giants traded a late third-round pick in the current draft as well as a future third-round pick to move up from 34 to 25 and acquire Dart. This is almost the exact same scenario, as the Jets pick 33rd.
The Jets have an early fourth-round pick, not a late third, but the difference is five picks. So, the Bears could trade back a few spots, pick up an extra fourth-round pick, and have an extra pick for next year.Â
Arizona Cardinals
This is almost the exact same situation as the New York Jets. The Cardinals pick 34th, while the Jets pick 33rd. The Jets pick 103rd, while the Cardinals pick 104th.

Both teams will need to package their second-round pick, that early fourth-round pick, and another pick to move up to the 25th overall pick. Because both teams are in need of a quarterback and there is only one quarterback worth going for in that spot, it could create legitimate interest as the teams position to get in front of each other. The Bears cannot let another team benefit from this while they sit back or trade up.Â
