Ryan Poles should fire Matt Eberflus today after seeing this horrific Bears' stat
If there is a day that ends in "y", there can be a stat to prove why the Chicago Bears need to fire Matt Eberflus immediately as their head coach.
Eberflus' defense of the Bears' end-of-game scenario against the Green Bay Packers in their Week 11 proof is the just latest in a string of oddities that prove the Bears' have a head coach that lacks situational awareness.
If Ryan Poles wanted to truly set the Bears in a direction that the organization has not traveled in the past, Eberflus would have been fired after the team's loss to the New England Patriots. Instead, Eberflus was allowed to scapegoat Shane Waldron, and the immediate result was the head coach once again being outcoached by his counterpart.
Eberflus being outcoached has been the definition of his tenure with the Bears. In fact, look no further than this horrific stat.
If only we could go back in time and fade the Bears in each of these moments. Though, had that been the case, we likely would not be spending our weekdays miserable over the fact that Eberflus remains as the head coach of the Bears. In fact, think of the misery that would be spared as we looked at the millions in our respective bank accounts.
Instead, Eberflus will take the podium at Halas Hall on Wednesday where he will once again be picked apart by the Bears' beat reporters. The proof is in the numbers, the Bears' inability to close out games in past seasons is not because they had a deficient roster or quarterback play. The Bears' inability to close out games is directly tied to the shortcomings of Eberflus as the team's head coach. Poles, if he truly wants the Bears to take back the NFC North, wouldn't waste another day with Eberflus as the team's head coach.
