For many Chicago Bears fans, draft day has turned into the Ashton Jeanty saga. To some, it's Jeanty or bust in the 2025 NFL Draft.
After the offseason these Bears have had, one might argue that Jeanty is that final piece which will put Ben Johnson's offense over the top in Chicago. The Boise State sensation is sure to go within the top 10 picks, but the real question is, will the Bears be bold enough to try and get him?
There's no way he drops to the no. 10 pick, is there?
At this point, it might not matter. There's been some smoke behind the idea that the Jacksonville Jaguars could end up with Jeanty. Some last-minute mock drafts from multiple experts have the Jaguars going Jeanty.
But now, there very well could be a mystery team entering the fold. According to insider Josina Anderson, teams have "heard about the potential availability" of New York Jets running back Breece Hall.
The Bears could fall victim to the loudest blockbuster trade on draft night
First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. If the Jets are looking to trade Hall, that has to mean they're going to replace him via the draft, right?
While Braelon Allen showed some sparks for New York last year, he isn't the full-time answer. Should the Jets shockingly move Hall, don't be surprised if they go Jeanty at no. 7 overall.
Of course, that's assuming Jeanty is still on the board then.
Chicago, meanwhile, currently holds the highest odds of drafting Jeanty. So, the Bears are fully in the Jeanty conversation. This isn't to scare fans off by any means, but just to recognize the potential scenario which could unfold.
If the Jets trade Hall, fire up the sirens. It will officially be time to panic if you're a Bears fan.
Should Chicago not end up with Jeanty, they do have other strong options via the draft. Many fans also like the possibility of going with North Carolina's Omarion Hampton or one of the Ohio State backs in TreVeyon Henderson or Quinshon Judkins.
