The Chicago Bears exceeded expectations this season, falling just short of the NFC Championship, so fans will be hoping for even more next season. For Chicago to deliver, the franchise has to be aggressive in building its roster. Fans have already put on their general manager hat, and the dream move for the offseason has quickly emerged: a trade for Maxx Crosby.

The star edge defender has been dominating for the Las Vegas Raiders, but as they start a rebuild, they could benefit from the package of picks and players they would get for Crosby. The Bears, who need an elite edge like Crosby, have picks and players; it’s just a matter of how much it will take to convince Vegas to move its franchise player.

Thanks to the Green Bay Packers, Chicago has an idea. Last offseason, the Packers sent two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark to the Dallas Cowboys for Parsons. For the Bears to land Crosby, it would likely take a similar package. If Chicago is willing to part ways with a player like DJ Moore and two first-round picks, they could have a new defensive star.

Bears could offer Raiders a blockbuster deal for Maxx Crosby in 2026 offseason

The biggest question is whether both sides are willing to part ways with their current players; there’s reason to believe the answer is yes. In Raiders’ general manager John Spytek’s end-of-season press conference, he was asked if Crosby was untradeable. The general manager gave a long-winded answer talking about how much he loves Crosby, and how the franchise doesn’t want good players to leave the building, but he never said Vegas wouldn’t move him.

Bears’ general manager Ryan Poles did something similar regarding Moore during his end-of-season presser on Wednesday. When asked about the veteran receiver’s fit on the team this season and beyond, Poles praised Moore’s toughness and commitment to winning, but expressed that Chicago has a lot of roster decisions to make. In other words, there’s no guarantee that Moore will still be with the Bears next season.

If Chicago is willing to move Moore, and Las Vegas is open to calls about Crosby, the Bears should pick up the phone and call the Raiders about a potential deal. With Dallas and Green Bay laying out the formula, both teams will know what compensation ballpark to be in. There may not be a Jerry Jones in the equation, but a deal could still get done.
