These three Bears are considered biggest losers of 2025 offseason

The Chicago Bears made a lot of roster movement that shook up how the team was constructed.

Some of it will help the current players on the roster, but some players have been hurt. Who are the early losers of the Bears offseason?

Three losers from the Bears' 2025 offseason

DJ Moore

It is hard to see Moore as a winner. The Bears spent a top-ten pick on Rome Odunze last year, and this year they added two pass catchers with early draft capital. Those two are even more notable because they come with the new head coach's approval.

We have no clue what Johnson thinks of Moore, and the early indication is that Johnson has set a hard line on how he expects Moore to emote play-in and play-out. If Moore is not dealt this year it may be his last year with the Bears.

Cole Kmet

Cole Kmet also had a notable discussion with Johnson during the OTA session that was open to the media. Johnson wanted Kmet to line up somewhere other than where Kmet had been and Johnson was not happy.

The two are not off to a rocky start, but they did just draft a tight end in the top ten. Tight end takes time to adjust into, but the team will need to get him on the field as soon as they can. This is not going to be good for Kmet’s playing time or his statistical output.

Braxton Jones

Braxton Jones has been out during the offseason with an injury, which obviously hurts his chances of being a winner. Still, while that cannot crush him too much, the fact that two very recent draft picks are the two names getting significant work at left tackle while he rehabs cannot be soothing.

Jones may not lose his job to injury, but rather than Ozzy Trapilo, he has a real fan in the new coach. Every snap that Trapilo looks strong in during OTAs will make Jones a bigger loser.
