Everything is coming together at the right time for Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams at the right time in training camp.

Bears reporters were sharing from Thursday's practice that Williams was having another solid day. ESPN's Courtney Cronin detailed Williams' second consecutive good day at practice.

"Aside from the pre-snap errors during Wednesday's practice, I think the last two days have been a strong showing from Caleb Williams. He was decisive in both two-minute drills and trusted different receivers (Olamide Zaccheaus with 3 completions Wed., Rome Odunze with two 3rd down grabs, including a third-and-long caught in bounds to set the team up to spike it with 1 second left to set up a FG) both days to move the offense down the field."

Williams picking up steam at the right time in Bears training camp

There has been so much negative press about Williams and how he has looked at training camp. Some of it is warranted, as there have been some inconsistencies, but with it just being preseason, there shouldn't be so much worry about him. It's all part of the plan.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson has purposely thrown so much at Williams to see what sticks and what needs to be worked on. Some might not like the strategy Johnson is using, but after leading the Detroit Lions' offense to three straight years of finishing in the top five in yards and points, he's owed a chance to prove himself.

It has been well-documented that the Bears' offense and Williams had a rough first week of training camp, but all indications suggest that things are improving. There have been rough practices, including Monday's tough day for the starters. The rest of the week has been good for the team.

Chicago looks ready to go with their first big challenge of the 2025 season, with their Week 2 preseason showdown against the Buffalo Bills on primetime Sunday night on FOX. The starters will be taking the field, so it'll be a good opportunity for Williams to show what he has learned so far.

Bears fans should prepare for it not to be 100% smooth, but the hope is to see good progress on the field against a Super Bowl-contending team.
