One thing that is becoming abundantly clear this season is that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is catching the attention of the NFL and his colleagues.
Williams is off to a stellar start to the 2025 season, passing for 927 yards and eight touchdowns to two interceptions in four games. He's also added 110 yards and one touchdown on the ground, leading the Bears to a two-game winning streak.
It's all been good vibes in Chicago, but the bye week is over, and the Bears have shifted their focus to an all-important Monday night game against the Washington Commanders. Williams' upcoming opponents, though, have his respect.
High praise from Washington to Williams
Commanders edge rusher Von Miller spoke with the media, sharing how the Bears are good at all three phases of the game. A follow-up question came, asking about his thoughts on Williams. Miller didn't hold back his praises of the second-year signal caller.
"Yeah, he's a special quarterback. Been a fan of Caleb for a long time, back in his USC days. I think he was with Oklahoma, too. You know, I'm a fan of football. Been a fan of Caleb for a long time. He's a special talent."
The eight-time Pro Bowler is in his first year with Washington and has gotten off to a hot start himself as mainly a third-down pass rusher. Miller has racked up seven tackles, five quarterback hits, three sacks, and two tackles for loss in five games.
Chicago has a tough battle ahead against Miller, as it is rumored that Theo Benedet will be taking over for Braxton Jones at left tackle. If Darnell Wright is healthy from his elbow injury, he should be back right now, but it might be Ozzy Trapilo if he needs to step in. That's a nightmare matchup for either Bears tackle to go up against Miller.
This is the type of game that will feature Williams making quick passes and potentially using his legs to pick up some yards. One great aspect of Williams' game is that he is able to use his athleticism to make plays.
