While the subject should be the 2026 Chicago Bears' upcoming potential, we are again discussing the one topic that gets the fan base furious: the new stadium.
Bears team president and CEO Kevin Warren, as well as owner George McCaskey, spoke to the media to provide an update on the new stadium. There was a lot said, so let's go over the Cliff Notes.
The Bears are potentially looking at another site to add to the Hammond, Indiana, location, which, according to the Bears brass, is the only one they are focused on right now. McCaskey did give good news: the "Chicago Bears" name would not change no matter where they moved. There has apparently been very little talk with Chicago, Arlington Heights, or the state of Illinois regarding keeping the Bears in the state.
Bears fans are not going to feel good about latest new stadium talks
One interesting note from it, separate from the other details above, was Warren's response to a question about Bears fans being upset about the team moving. His answer was about as corporate as it could get.
"I understand how a fan could be upset, but I think what's important to recognize is that it's important to fans to build a world-class stadium," Warren said via CHGO.
The reality is that this conversation is just getting tiring, and fans will be upset no matter what. That comment from Warren, though, is not going to feel better. A real human moment is what fans needed to hear, even if it may not be the answer they want.
This situation has been a mess over the last year, from the back-and-forth with Illinois to now being solely focused on Indiana. No matter how often this conversation comes up, no one is really winning this situation except for Indiana, as they are about to bring in a massive moneymaker.
We all know the real purpose of that press conference was to provide updates on everything going on with the new stadium, but it was also a chance for Warren and McCaskey to try to connect with the fans as much as possible. That just never really happened, and the result was a YouTube stream with fans' comments, clown emojis when Warren talked, and calls for him to be fired.
It certainly feels as though the Bears are trying to get through this tough time with fans, and that time will heal. That might not be the case here, as they have caused significant damage to the Chicago and Illinois communities.
At the same time, Illinois politicians and lawmakers deserve just as much blame for dragging their feet on working out a deal with the Bears. Now, because of it, they just lost a massive revenue maker for the state.

Nobody came out of that press conference feeling better about the stadium, as it really didn't add much new. This is just tiring at this point, and Bears fans are completely over it because nothing can really be done now. It appears for all intents and purposes that the Bears will be in Indiana no matter what, as frustrating as that is.
