The Chicago Bears thought they were completely out of the running for Maxx Crosby after he was traded to the Baltimore Ravens from the Las Vegas Raiders. That is no longer the case.
Las Vegas announced on social media that the Ravens backed out of the trade. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that the reason is that Crosby failed his physical.
The Bears were in the conversation for Crosby, but was not one of the finalist to land him. All of a sudden, they could be back in it.
Bears might have a second chance at Maxx Crosby
Crosby is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL as he has had 69.5 sacks in seven seasons in the league. He has been selected to five Pro Bowls, which solidifies that most teams would be interested in him.
The Bears are more than capable of getting back in the conversation and going after Crosby. They know that they have to trade two first round picks to go get him, so they can still go after him and make it happen.
Chicago has not done much in the pass rush department with Daniel Hardy and Kentavius Street being their only significant signings at the position. From what the Bears were doing, it seemed as though they were going to use their draft picks on it.
This was a pass rush that only had 35 sacks last seaosn with just six teams having less than the Bears. Montez Sweat led the way with 10, but needs more help and Crosby would be an instant game-changer Chicago needs for their defense.
