It's only been a week since the chaos which ensued in the Chicago Bears' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions which was ultimately followed up by the team deciding to fire head coach Matt Eberflus.

It was just another loss which came down to late-game decision-making and, quite frankly, enough was enough.

Reports of the Bears locker room being in an uproar started to filter in later on, headlined by cornerback Jaylon Johnson sounding off on his former head coach. But, Johnson wasn't the only Bears player frustrated by Eberflus' incompetence.

One of the guys who had been in Chicago since the beginning of Eberflus' tenure, offensive lineman Teven Jenkins, was asked about the firing this week. One reporter made a comment that insinuated the move to fire Eberflus was a "welcomed change," and asked Jenkins if that rang true.

"The vibe I get is that this was a really welcomed change ... without disparaging Matt (Eberflus), do you think that's accurate?" Jenkins was asked.

More Bears news:

"Yeah I love Flus, but I feel like the first point you just said is very accurate," Jenkins responded.

Based on all of the reports, whispers and rumors over the last few weeks that cumulated into Eberflus' eventual firing, this isn't hard to believe. The Bears are in need of a culture change, and hopefully, they get one.

The Bears' head coaching search could end up being unpredictable

It's hard to know just what Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles will end up doing to fill the permanent job, but there are countless options.

Many fans would like to see Chicago look at some of the up-and-coming coordinators to be first-time head coaches. Names like Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn of the Detroit Lions make sense, whether the Bears choose to go with an offensive or defensive mind.

Johnson has long been a favorite of Bears fans, but he will be one of the top candidates, if not the very top, and the Bears would have competition. Ultimatley, though, it might depend on whether or not Johnson wants to be in Chicago, which is another story altogether.

There are other coaches with plenty of experience available as well, whether it be Mike Vrabel or even Bill Belichick. Say what you will about either of those, but a culture change would certainly happen from Day 1.

Of course, there are other more unorthodox options like the wild notion that Kyle Shanahan could be available via trade if the San Francisco 49ers continue to spiral. That is not necessarily a likely scenario, but it's one that would be welcomed by many fans.

Again, no matter which route the Bears go, the culture must change. Maybe, that's by keeping Thomas Brown in the role if he proves to do a great job. We'll have to wait and see.
