Happy 38th Birthday to Marcus Robinson! The former Bears wide receiver can now thank Brandon Marshall for wiping his one great season out of the Bears record books and now his name will probably never be mentioned again when talking about Chicago Bear wide receivers.
Robinson’s one great season was in 1999 when the University of South Carolina product in his second season grabbed 84 balls for 1,400 yards and 9 touchdowns. The crazy part of that season is that three different quarterbacks threw for over 100 completions that season. Cade McNown, Shane Matthews, and Jim Miller all had a part in the Robinson career year. In one of the first seasons I ever played fantasy football it was good to be a homer and pick up Robinson for this one great year. Robinson never came close to reaching any of those stats again in any other season although he hung around the NFL for 10 season playing for the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.
Robinson career ended with 325 catches for 4.699 yards and 43 touchdowns but his 1999 season was magical and now with one Marshall season it will all but be forgotten!
