Follow. The. Money.  Ted Phillips is the team president, but he’s also an accountant at his core.  I think that’s why the McCaskeys love him like an adopted son.  The Bears don’t believe in the idea of sunk cost.  If they trade Cutler, they’re still on the hook for $16.5 million against next season’s cap and have another $19.5 mildo in dead money.  That’s a big Twinkie, as they said in Ghostbusters.  Face it, he Bears are hitched to Cutler for at least the next two years, as long as a portion of his salary is guaranteed.
