Jeremy Langford

Another key Pace acquisition started to separate himself from the pack to be Matt Forte‘s primary backup, as fourth round pick Jeremy Langford had himself another solid outing.  Langford busted off a 46 yard run on a nice cutback move and added a short yardage touchdown when he totally reversed his field and beat the Colts defender to the goal line for a 2-yard score.

I had little doubt that Langford would make the roster, but it’s becoming clear that the Bears might have found Matt Forte’s successor.  I’m not sure that Langford will be the true #2 back just yet, not with Jacquizz Rodgers as one of the best pass blocking running backs in the league expected to come in on passing downs.  If Forte were to miss any time, you can expect Langford would be the guy to get the bulk of the snaps.
