Mocking The Mocks: The Chicago Bears Select
We’re quarter way through 2015 NFL season and the Bears have only one win under their belt. If they finish the season winning only one quarter of their games, it’s very possible they could wind up with a high draft pick as many draft analyst are speculating. Let’s dive in a little deeper and see what some of the favorite draftnik’s are thinking Chicago will do to reshape the 2016 Bears.
Bleacher Report: Matt Miller
The Pick,

Second Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“It’s perhaps not the most popular opinion I’ll have there, but Jay Cutler is playing pretty well for the Chicago Bears when healthy. But that doesn’t mean the new regime in Chicago, led by general manager Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox, should bypass the opportunity to draft a young franchise quarterback.”

Yahoo Sports: Eric Edholm
The Pick,

Second Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“Goff has a ton of upside and looks to be the best of a so-so group of eligible quarterbacks, but he’s no finished product. The Bears might be tethered to Jay Cutler for another year anyway, but best to prep for the future as soon as possible.”

Third Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“It’s either a quarterback or a blue-chip defender like Jalen Ramsey for the Bears. The conservative John Fox may push for Ramsey or another defensive player, but I think Chicago ultimately has to take a potential franchise signal-caller. Jay Cutler’s days in Chicago are numbered, so the Bears need to start over and rebuild. They can do that by drafting Jared Goff.”

SBNation: Dan Kadar
The Pick,

First Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“If the Bears end up having the first pick in the draft, it should signal a roster reset starting with quarterback. As things look right now, Goff is the only surefire first-round quarterback in the 2016 draft. He might not have a classic cannon arm or huge frame, but Goff’s ball placement is very good and he makes few mistakes.”

The Pick,

Second Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“The Bears are currently locked into a long-term deal with Jay Cutler, but if they’re able to find a way out of that contract, Goff should be priority number one in the draft. The Cal passer might not have elite physical tools, but he’s off-the-charts above the neck.”

The Pick,
Mandatory Credit: Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports
First Overall: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
“The fact that Jay Cutler got injured again is a sign that there must be change of the guard in Chicago at the quarterback position. It is time to move on from Jay Cutler and start anew. John Fox and Adam Gase will bring in Goff, who I think is the best pure passer since Andrew Luck, and introduce him to a flock of healthy weapons around him. This should be a slam dunk number one pick.”

Unanimously, these six draft analyst agree that should the Bears earn a top three pick of 2016, they will use it on Junior QB Jared Goff. Should the Bears take a QB this high, there is no reason to believe he doesn’t come in and start for the Monsters of the Midway. Big Co. has built up such an animosity for current QB Jay Cutler that fans are ready to see a new passer in Chicago in hopes to return the team to a playoff contender.
