The Bears need serious help in the secondary. Kyle Fuller is up and down and his future with the club is cloudy once his rookie deal expires. It’s clear though after two seasons that he is not and will not become the shutdown corner the Bears were hoping for when they spent a first round pick on the CB. Fuller may be good enough to be a second corner or slot corner and he might even be successful if moved to safety, but the Bears are so thin everywhere this side of Adrian Amos that they are just on life support in the secondary on a weekly basis.

Let’s be honest, Amos has already proven to be a great value as a late round pick and had shown potential to be a legitimate safety but we’ve turned him into Ronnie Lott due to the current desperate situation in the secondary.

This is why Pace needs to take a long look at Jenkins. He’s a special talent and has shutdown corner ability. He had character questions in college which is something that may scare Pace, but at the same time, he hadn’t had any issues in his four years in the NFL.

Jenkins instantly makes the Bears defense significantly better. He’s a playmaker, something the defense desperately needs and he’s a big talent that can make the type of plays that can swing losses into victories. If  Pace and Fox are comfortable with his character, expect them to make a big push for Jenkins.
