Brian Hoyer has put up big numbers since stepping in for the injured Jay Cutler, and has been the picture of consistency the Bears have needed on offense. In each of the last three games, Hoyer has passed for over 300 yards, including for 397 yards versus the Colts. Hoyer’s QB rating on the season is 108.5, and in Weeks 4 and 5, his QB rating was 120.1 and 120.0 respectively. This week, Hoyer will be up against one of the best pass defenses in the league. Entering Week 6, the Jaguars are ranked seventh against the pass (198.8 yards per game), and their opposing quarterbacks have a combined rating of 92.7. For a team that’s averaging less than 20 points a game, Hoyer will not only have to put up big passing numbers, but will also have to find better ways to put the ball in the end zone on a consistent basis as well.
