Chicago Bears Draft Scout: Calvin Ridley
By Josh Diaz
Fit for Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears need playmakers on the outside to help Mitchell Trubisky develop. Calvin Ridley could fill that role, alongside Cameron Meredith. Cameron Meredith is bigger and faster than Ridley, but they would compliment each other well. Ridley could be the number two or slot receiver that focuses on getting open and becoming a reliable target for Trubiskyl. Ridley wouldn’t need to be the primary focus of the offense.

Drafting Calvin Ridley with the 8th overall pick seems to be a tad bit of a reach. If he doesn’t impress at the combine he will fall down the board. Ridley should be considered as a draft pick as long as he isn’t the number one player on the Bears draft board.
Trading down might be an idea for the Chicago Bears if they truly want to draft Calvin Ridley. The extra draft picks as well as still getting the player they want would be a win-win situation.
