With the Chicago Bears final pick in round 7, they select Javon Wims, wide receiver from Georgia
The Chicago Bears added yet another wide receiver to the room in Javon Wims from Georgia. Like Roquan Smith, Bilal Nichols and Kylie Fitts, Javon Wims is a player we profiled suggesting that the Chicago Bears select them in the middle rounds. To say that we are pleased with this haul is a massive understatement. How does Javon Wims grade out?
Need?
Allen Robinson is coming off of an ACL. Taylor Gabriel has yet to have success outside of a Kyle Shanahan offense. Kevin White, well, yeah. To say that Anthony Miller comes in and everything is over with is a bit shortsighted. Allen Robinson could be a star. Gabriel fits perfectly. This room still needs more help.

So is Javon Wims worth being drafted? Yes. We profiled as a player who would look great in the fifth round. NFL.com was a bit lower, but still said 6-7. Not much more to say there.
Player?
Javon Wims is a jump ball, goal line wide receiver. He is essentially a Kevin White insurance policy. He is a former basketball player and presents a similar skill set as White. White is more athletic but we all know the injury downside of Kevin White. Wims is a bit older coming out of college, and his ceiling is not too high due to a lack of ability to separate. He is a speciality player. His speciality is jump balls.
Still, that is something that translates to the NFL and is a great fit as a number four wide receiver if White is to be removed from the plans. He can instantly be an option in the red zone and in the 7th round there is not much more you can ask for.
