We knew coming out of the 2019 NFL Draft that Emanuel Hall had injury questions. Those questions cut his time with the Chicago Bears short.

When Emanuel Hall was signed as a UDFA, we were excited. This was a talent whose tape said round two. All draft prognosticators were stunned to see him fall out of the entire draft.

There were always questions about Hall. Some coaches question his ability to return from injury at the anticipated timeline. Still, this could have dinged a player from round two into the late portion. As a UDFA, he was worth a shot due to his high-end talent.

The Chicago Bears took that shot, and unfortunately learned why he fell so far on draft weekend. The team announced that they are letting Hall go before their second preseason game.

During OTAs, Matt Nagy announced that Hall had surgery in the offseason. This began the smoke. We wrote that this likely ended any chance of Hall making the 53-man roster. A UDFA needs a perfect OTA, camp and preseason to get that shot, and Hall was out by OTAs.

Still, the Bears wanted to see him in camp and made him active. Injuries followed.

Hall hardly practiced in camp and did not play in their preseason game. While he had the surgery, the Bears clearly saw him as healthy and ready to return from it. So did Hall. However, for Hall is appears to always be something.

So, with trust hindered in OTAs, and a limited chance to make the roster Hall lost even more ground missing the first preseason game. Look for Hall to catch on somewhere else and spend his rookie season on the IR. Then look for that team to be frustrated with his injuries and let him go a year later.
