Improve the Offensive Line

Bears fans and writers have all said it a million times, but I guess they still haven’t listened so I doubt they will now.

The Bears NEED to improve their offensive line basically yesterday. They should’ve done more this offseason, but at this point, they need to make some moves. Sure, the line looked solid the first few weeks against below-average defenses, but now they look horrid. It also doesn’t help their two best linemen are currently out with injuries. Rashaad Coward and Sam Mustipher both played plenty against the Rams.

There are plenty of things the Bears can do! The issue is I doubt they do anything.

For starters, elite pass-blocking left guard Quinton Spain is a free agent. Easy. Bring him in. Shouldn’t even be a hesitation. That immediately replaces Coward and we never have to see him again.

Additionally, there are plenty of tanking teams that could offload their offensive lineman. Here are just a few names of guys that would be immediate impacts:

  • Alex Mack, C, Atlanta Falcons
  • Billy Price, C, Cincinnati Bengals
  • Kevin Zeitler, OG, New York Giants
  • Zach Fulton, OG, Houston Texans
  • James Carpenter, OG, Atlanta Falcons

They additionally need to add tackles too, but that’s for the future and not now.
