The Chicago Bears remain mediocre

This is the worst scenario by far. This final scenario would be horrible for the team for many reasons. If the Bears finish 8-8 or 7-9, this is a wasted season. The Bears will have a middle pick out of reach for the top quarterback and will miss the playoffs.

That isn’t the worst part. This may not be enough for the Bears to fire Nagy and Pace knowing Ted Phillips and George McCaskey. They might give them another chance at drafting their own quarterback, which would also be a disaster.

This scenario is very possible too as the Bears could win against the Lions, Jaguars, and Texans and lose to the Vikings and Packers making them 8-8. If that were to happen, it would be a disappointment.

As stated above, this puts the Bears likely out of reach of both Lance and Wilson while possibly putting them out of reach of Mac Jones as well. This would be horrible for the Bears as they would be stuck with Foles next season and possibly have to reach for Kyle Trask in the first round, which would be a mistake.

All in all, Bears fans should hope for either a playoff run or a lose-out ending to the season. With those two options, they actually make the playoffs or they can build for the future with a new staff if this one doesn’t cut it.
