Chicago Bears: Five players who need to dominate vs Packers
By Pablo Rosero
The Chicago Bears need Jaylon Johnson to play his best this week vs Packers
Jaylon Johnson has had a good year so far in 2021, he’s been the clear top cornerback for the Bears and has been solid in his matchups to this point of the season. However, he has yet to play Davante Adams and it won’t be an easy matchup.
Adams, who is coming off a 200-yard game against the Cincinnati Bengals, has once again started off the season hot. There aren’t many fans around the NFL who would vote against Adams being the top wideout in the league, especially when he has the 2020 NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers throwing him the football.
Johnson will likely see a heavy dose of Adams this week and, while he won’t be expected to lock him down, there is an expectation that he can slow down the All-Pro wideout.
Johnson, who ranks 11th out of 115 eligible corners on Pro Football Focus, has seen a major improvement from year one to year two. The Bears, who have yet to score more than 24 points in a game, will likely need another massive performance from their defense to have a chance against the Packers. Johnson will be a focal point and should have a busy afternoon on Sunday.
