Chicago Bears disappointing player No. 1: Mario Edwards Jr.

Nope, you’re not in a weird Déjà vu situation, Mario Edwards Jr. is back on this list for a second week in a row.

For some reason, Mario Edwards Jr. loves his television time so much that he’ll do something dumb after the whistle three times in two weeks to get the announcers to say his name. It’d be far better for both of us if he used that strength and effort during the play instead of after.

As always, Twitter’s had just about enough of Edwards Jr.’s antics.

Twitter will always be Twitter, but those two tweets make the same point I’m making: Mario Edwards Jr. isn’t disciplined, and teams that win games are– often– disciplined.

And in a game that’s won by 10 points, a 15-yard unsportsmanlike that goes on to be a scoring drive seems significant. Penalties like Edwards has been suspect to three times in two weeks. I feel like unless your name is Ndomakong Suh, you don’t get multiple unsportsmanlike penalties in a season, let alone three in two weeks.

Maybe I’m harping on it too much, but those penalties are game-losing when the Chicago Bears aren’t a complete football team yet.

Now that Mario Edwards goes No. 1 in back-to-back weeks, who steps in behind as the Chicago Bears’ No. 2 most disappointing player?
