George McCaskey continues to lock up Chicago Bears “secrets”

McCaskey started the press conference with some words about Les Grobstein. The Chicago media cared deeply about Grobber, so it meant a lot to everyone there. In addition, McCaskey addressed how Poles made the shortlist of candidates.

Polian was hired to do a job and his efforts aided the Chicago Bears in finding the right hire. Polian’s background speaks for itself and having him help the Bears was essential. McCaskey and Bears Team President Ted Phillips are not football-minded people. It is very clear that they need all the help they can get.

An interesting tidbit from McCaskey on Monday is that one of their new policies is not giving the media the lengths of the contracts for the GM or the head coach. This is another prime example of the Chicago Bears treating their organization like Fort Knox. Why do they need to hide everything?

One thing I always find interesting is that while some NFL teams will live stream certain parts of practice for their fanbase, the Bears discourage live video from hitting social media. Only a small amount of practice is allowed to be published on social media. Does any of that change with the new regime? We will find out soon enough.
