10 free agents connected to new Chicago Bears leadership

The Chicago Bears could pursue free agent cornerback Charvarius Ward
Staying on the topic of cornerback, the Bears could use multiple signings at this position if the value is there. With only five draft picks, the Bears are going to have to make some aggressive moves in free agency at certain positions.
Last season, when the Chiefs’ defense finally turned a corner, they were off and running. Charvarius Ward was one of the unsung heroes who played a great season overall. Over the course of the 2021 season, Ward allowed an opposing quarterback rating of 79.4, per Pro Football Reference.
He also came up with 10 passes defensed and a pair of interceptions. Ward allowed a completion percentage of 51.3 percent, too, making it clear he denied the ball at a high level.
One underrated aspect of Ward’s game is the fact that he doesn’t miss a lot of tackles. Last season, he had a missed tackle percentage of just 4.3.
Ward is also young at just 25 years old, which would make him a nice pairing with Jaylon Johnson.
