The Chicago Bears could pursue free agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Going back to the Packers having to find a way to make the money work this offseason with their top free agents, there is a good chance they see Marquez Valdes-Scantling in a new uniform in 2022. In addition to Rodgers (a new deal) and Adams, the Packers have to decide whether to pay All Pro linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, along with some other guys like Robert Tonyan, Kevin King and Lucas Patrick.

Valdes-Scantling would be a pretty solid signing for the Bears, and one that would fly under the radar. The former North Carolina State standout was drafted four years ago in the fifth round by Green Bay, and has since become one of their top deep threats when healthy.

His best season came when he averaged a whopping 20.9 yards per reception back in 2020; he caught 33 passes for 690 yards and six scores.

But, in the offseason, Rodgers made it clear he wanted Randall Cobb back in Green Bay, which made it more difficult for Valdes-Scantling to earn playing time. Still, over his four seasons with the Packers, he’s caught 123 passes for 2,153 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Paired with Darnell Mooney, Valdes-Scantling would give Fields a speedy duo that could get behind defenses with ease.
