4. Deon Bush

Deon Bush has been a longtime Chicago Bears player. Ryan Pace drafted him and he outlived his rookie contract and stuck around for two more seasons. Part of that is likely that he did not have a strong market elsewhere, but also that he is a player that has a defined role.

As a depth safety, he knows he is a number three or four, which means playing in dime. He also adds value to special teams. Still, one thing the tape showed last season was that the Bears could find players like him nearly anywhere.

In fact, they have another layer on their depth chart who filled that role even better last season. When Deon Bush was benched up DeAndre Houston-Carson stepped in and took over the role admirably.

The Bears could bring back DHC at the same price, and potentially cheaper. Or, like other scenarios, there are some depth safeties from the Chiefs or Colts that these two knows will buy into their system already. the odds are that Deon Bush had a nice run in Chicago, but will be playing for a new team in 2022.
