Chicago Bears draft prospects who dominated Combine: OL Cole Strange

This might feel like a reach back into the old pocket of Ryan Pace, going after a small school offensive line prospect, but make no mistake about it, Cole Strange is a legitimate offensive lineman to look for in this year’s draft.

Strange is another one of those linemen who have strength and quickness, and it showed up at the Combine. He ran his 40-yard dash in 5.01 seconds. Nearly running a sub-5.0 at 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds is something to be proud of.

He also ended with 32 reps on the bench press and a 28-inch vertical.

Strange has the feel for getting out in space and up to the second level if need be. He’s a smart player who can play multiple positions as well. Strange has a strong grip and great hand technique, which enables him to latch onto opposing linemen and not let go.

Scouts say he is best suited for a zone scheme, which is what the Bears will be running under Luke Getsy. So, Strange is a perfect fit. He’s yet another guy to keep your eye on.
