We are counting down the days until training camp and with that are counting down the Chicago Bears roster from 90 all the way down to number one. We are looking at which players could have the biggest impact on the roster.
We are down to number 45 overall.
Chicago Bears 2022 roster ranking: No. 45 Kindle Vildor
The rise and fall of Kindle Vildor can be shown over the years. As a rookie, he jumped in at 42nd overall, but with Kyle Fuller cut and with little behind him he shot up to number 25 due to the lack of other options around him.
The ranking was fair considering he started most of the year, and his performance did have a big impact on the Chicago Bears having a poor record.
The new regime saw Vildor in 2021 and made sure to add to the cornerback room, which pushes him back down to the rankings.
With Kyler Gordon drafted, and Tavon Young signed, Vildor is already down two pegs on the pecking order, and he arguably is behind Thomas Graham as well now.
Coming in as the number five cornerback is as low as he has ever been. That is why his ranking is lower than it ever has been.
Considering he is coming from the old regime, and he is not looked at highly by the new regime, he may be looked at as a player who has to compete with UDFAs to continue to earn his roster spot.
Considering he was just starting last season, it is hard to go all the way and knock him out of the top 53. Still, his play warranted that he be viewed as a fringe roster player and depth at the best. That is what is causing the rightful drop from 25 to 45 after he shot from 42 to 25 the season prior.
