5 players included in Chicago Bears roster trimming
2. Jake Bargas
When the Chicago Bears signed Jake Bargas, it brought up some red flags. If you recall he was just signed about 48 hours ago, so when the team was supposed to be cutting players, they were still shuffling.
The Bears let go of David Moore, an expected move, but there was not supposed to be a corresponding decision. The Bargas signing had Khari Blasingame under the microscope.
Blasingame had a cast on his hand during the Chicago Bears preseason game. So, there were questions as to whether Bargas was there to fill in.
However, 24 hours after Bargas was signed, Blasingame had nothing on his hand and was practicing like normal.
Still, the answer was that they were at least a little concerned with Blasingame. They made the Bargas signing just in case he was banged up. Once he returned, they told Bargas to pack up what little he had unpacked. This move is not surprising because if Blasingame is healthy they have no need for Bargas.
Still, it is interesting that they signed him because it shows they may have been concerned with Blasingame just a day or two ago.
