5. Jack Sanborn

You should be able to lock in Jack Sanborn on the 53-man roster. His defense has been notable, but his special teams play it which is punching his ticket. Now, the question for a UDFA rookie becomes how high can he climb?

We do not know how many linebackers will make the roster, but as of now, he is behind Roquan Smith, Nicholas Morrow, Matt Adams, and Joe Thomas. He has been behind Caleb Johnson, but an injury to Johnson may change that,

Either way, as the fifth or possibly sixth linebacker he is right on the roster fringe. Still, from there he just needs to pass Adams and Thomas to become a third linebacker, which is technically a starter.

While he may not do it all in this game, we should get a good look at the depth of the linebacker group in the second half of this game. Sanborn may get more time next to someone like Thomas, after spending most of his preseason next to Demarquis Gates.

This will give the team a better evaluation and we will see if he can climb from five to three before the weekend is over.
