As I enter year six writing about the Chicago Bears for BearGogglesOn, this will now be the sixth time that I predict the team’s record. If you look back at my track record, you should be able to trust that one thing that I am not, is biased on one side or the other. One year they performed better than I suspected, two years they fared worse, and then two years I nailed their record. Every year I have given you a realistic view of how the team should perform.

I have correctly predicted the Chicago Bears record in this post over the past two seasons, so we will hope to keep it going for a third year in a row.

2017 Prediction: 6-10

Actual: 5-11

2018 Prediction: 9-7

Actual: 12-4

2019 Prediction: 9-7

Actual: 8-8

2020 Prediction: 8-8

Actual: 8-8

2021 Prediction: 6-11

Actual: 6-11

Chicago Bears 2022 Record Prediction

Week One vs San Francisco

A lot of fans are excited about Trey Lance making his first start on the road, but I fear Nick Bosa lining up against Braxton Jones. The 49ers come in with a dominant run game and wide receivers and they edge out a low-scoring game.

0-1

Week Two at Green Bay

Aaron Rodgers, at home on primetime against a new coach and a young quarterback. Perhaps we get a moral win as the Bears hang tough and Justin Fields performs well against a strong defense.

0-2

Week Three vs Texans

Lovie Smith comes to town, and Justin Fields should know his defense well since Matt Eberflus runs a similar variation. The Texans do not have the offense, and the Bears take the momentum from playing well late against the Packers to win their first game.

1-2

Week Four at New York Giants

Something tells me that Tyrod Taylor talk is going to start early in the big apple, and the Bears may get their first road win against a flustered Daniel Jones who is on thin ice.

2-2

Week Five at Minnesota Vikings

Getting a divisional rival on back-to-back road games hurts, and the Vikings’ big names on offense put up enough to hold serve at home.

2-3

Week six vs Washington

Carson Wentz on the road on primetime smells like a couple of turnovers. When you add in that Matt Eberflus saw his flaws highlighted in practice last season, the Bears defense should shut down the Commanders and win this game.

3-3

Week Seven at New England

The highlights will be Mac Jones against Justin Fields, but the reality is that a young Chicago Bears roster will be on the road against the best coach of all time for a primetime game, and funky things happen in New England. This may be an eye-opener for the Bears.

3-4

Week eight at Dallas

Back-to-back road games are always a tough challenge for first-year head coaches, and this one gives Matt Eberflus no favors as he goes from Monday night so early on Sunday. The Cowboys will take advantage.

3-5

Week Nine vs Miami

The weather could really help Chicago against a fair-weather team. However, on November 6th it could easily still be warm enough for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to run all over the place.

3-6

Week 10 vs Detroit

A team on a three-game losing streak could use the Lions at home. This one gets the team back on track.

4-6

Week 11 at Atlanta

Atlanta should be one of the worst teams in the NFL. Desmond Ridder should be starting at this point, and Justin Fields should get to see how rough others rookies look in bad situations.

5-6

Week 12 at New York Jets

I know I am getting too hung up on back-to-back road games, but the team riding a two-game winning streak into some bad weather in New York could cause for a sloppy game. The Jets improved in a lot of areas this offseason and could be clicking with a healthy QB by the end of the season.

5-7

Week 13 vs Green Bay Packers

I hate to do it, but it is hard to see Aaron Rodgers losing against the Bears after his performance in Soldier Field last season. It will take a talented Bears team, like the 2018 version.

5-8

Week 14 BYE

Week 15 vs Philadelphia

The Chicago Bears young offensive line really needed that bye week, but now they get a loaded Eagles defensive front. The defense of the Eagles and the offensive line they bring on the road get them by in a low-scoring game.

5-9

Week 16 vs Buffalo

This could be another game where moral victories come into play. If Justin Fields has a big game, but Josh Allen outduels him as they are hot and heading into the playoffs, it may be the exciting game needed to head into the offseason with hope.

5-10

Next. 10 worst Ryan Pace draft picks. dark

Week 17 at Detroit

The knee-biters will fight until the end at home, and they will grab this one as Chicago licks their wounds from a breathtaking game against Buffalo.

5-11

 Week 18 vs Minnesota

We do not know what Minnesota will be playing for, but Chicago will be giving their all for their new coach, and to bring momentum into the new year. They finish the season with a win, and after the Buffalo performance, the combination has fans excited.

6-11
