The Chicago Bears stay put this time and draft a defensive stud
4) CHI (via IND): Will Anderson Jr, EDGE – Alabama
After trading back with the Colts and acquiring DeForest Buckner, Will Anderson provides a true pass rusher on the outside and could compliment the veteran from the edge of the defensive line. Both players would dramatically increase the defensive line production compared to a season ago, and while Anderson could end up being the best defensive player in this class, getting him at number 4 would be a steal.
5) SEA (via DEN): Jalen Carter, DT – Georgia
After trading Russel Wilson to the Broncos last offseason, the Seahawks use the pick they received to select Jalen Carter, one of the most talented prospects in the draft. Between his size and his ability as a pass rusher and run stuffer, Carter would not only be a great fit in Seattle’s 3-4 defense as a 3-technique but would be a part of an elite, young defensive core alongside the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year Candidate Tariq Woolen.
6) DET (via LAR): Bryan Bresee, DT – Clemson
After selecting defensive end Aiden Hutchinson number two overall a season ago, Detroit doubles down on their defensive line, pairing the former Wolverine with a true freak prospect in Bryan Bresee. With the ability to play all across the defensive line, the Clemson product could rush next to or opposite Hutchinson and could create problems for the interior of opposing offensive lines.
7) ARI (via LV): Peter Skoronski, OT – Northwestern
After trading back with the Raiders, the Cardinals select the best offensive lineman in the draft class to protect franchise quarterback Kyler Murray, who has finished each of the past two seasons on the sideline. With Murray’s health a priority for the franchise moving forward, Peter Skoronski is a safe selection to keep Murray upright and aid in a run game that needs to be developed as soon as possible.
