In the aftermath of one of the most dramatic Chicago Bears games this fan base has ever seen, there are plenty of Green Bay Packers fans complaining about missed calls by the referee crew.
Ah, yes. It's the old, "can't beat 'em, blame the refs" ploy. It's understandable, though. The Bears ripped Green Bay's heart out in overtime.
But, if we're being fair, the Bears were also behind the 8-ball in this one, much thanks to the officials. There were a few key moments where the refs completely missed some calls in the Bears' Week 16 overtime victory over the Packers.
Packer fans can whine about missed calls, but the Bears have every right to join in
On the Packers' first offensive drive of the game, Jordan Love took the snap on a 3rd-and-1 from the Bears' 44-yard line. The very first issue with this play was that a Packers lineman on the left side moved early. It was blatant. It was obvious.
Even Bears beat writer Adam Hoge noticed and called it out himself, but there was no flag thrown on Green Bay.
Yet on that very same play, the Bears were called for two penalties. They included a defensive holding on C.J. Gardner-Johnson, which was declined, and a roughing the passer call on Austin Booker for taking Love to the ground.
Two flags for Chicago, zero for Green Bay, and the Packers' error came first.
Next up, on the Bears' first offensive drive, Caleb Williams dropped back to pass on the team's fourth play. Williams took off and ran for a gain of nine yards, but elsewhere on the field, Packers defensive back Keisean Nixon took a blind-side shot at wide receiver D.J. Moore.
Moore would leave the game, momentarily, after being shaken up. Fortunately, he was able to come back and, well, we know how this one ended.
But, there was not a single flag thrown for this ridiculous show of foul play.
Finally, as the Bears tried to get something going before halftime, Williams targeted tight end Cole Kmet on a 3rd-and-4. The Green Bay defensive back, covering, grabbed and held onto Kmet's jersey after the ball was thrown.
You guessed it -- no call.
So, go ahead and complain about missed calls or bad calls if you're a Packer fan. That's all well and good. But let's keep that same energy on both sides for the calls.

I suppose I should also add that, in the end, none of it really mattered.
Who won?
