The moment has arrived for the Chicago Bears to get their revenge on the Washington Commanders after last year's disastrous Hail Mary.
Chicago is coming off the bye week and will be at their healthiest with multiple players returning, including Kyler Gordon and T.J. Edwards. The Bears enter the contest with a 2-2 record, riding a two-game winning streak.
There are a few players who have something to prove in this game, whether it's making a good first impression or bouncing back from a poor performance. It might even be a guy who didn't particularly have a good moment the last time these two teams played.
Tyrique Stevenson, CB
Let's get the obvious out of the way first. Stevenson had a miserable game last year against Washington that cost them a whole season of trying to earn the Bears fan base's trust again. After putting up some stellar performances over the last two games, another great game by Stevenson might finally get the memories of the Fail Mary away from him.
Caleb Williams, QB
It's been discussed at length over the last week, but Williams needs a signature win on his resume. He's thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns to two interceptions through four games and has played well, but his fellow 2024 first-round pick quarterback on the other side of the field, Jayden Daniels, is off to a much better start to his career. A win over Daniels would propel the Bears' season to a whole new level and put Williams in the conversation as one of the best QBs in the NFL.
D'Andre Swift, RB
Everyone thought last year was bad when Swift averaged a career-low 3.8 yards per carry. He's actually managed to do worse, as he is now down to 3.3 yards per carry and has only gained an average of 46.8 yards per game. If Swift doesn't have a breakout game soon, the Bears could be in the market for a running back, and that could be Ben Johnson kicking Swift off the team a second time.

Theo Benedet, LT
It's the first career start for Benedet at left tackle and his second NFL start ever after playing right tackle in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. While he was inconsistent at right tackle, once he moved to left tackle, it became clear that he needs to start there instead of Braxton Jones. What an opportunity for Benedet to prove to Johnson that he needs to hold that spot as long as he is on the team.
