The Chicago Bears are close to starting their minicamp, with a lot of interest in the rookies joining the team.
It's easy to watch what guys like Dillon Thieneman, Logan Jones, Sam Roush, Zavion Thomas, and Malik Muhammad do. What will be more fascinating to see is how the undrafted rookies handle minicamp and whether they have a legit shot at making the 53-man roster going into training camp in a few months.
Chicago has a strong undrafted free agent class that has shown in college how good they are, but must prove themselves at the pro level. Here are four undrafted free agents on the Bears who could find their way on the 53-man roster.
Beau Gardner, LS
This is 100% low hanging fruit of a selection, but the Bears need a long snapper, and Gardner fills that need. It certainly helps that he won the Patrick Mannelly Award at Georgia for the nation's best long snapper. Gardner appears to be the best long snapper in the draft, and as long as no one else gets signed, he should be in line to start in 2026.
Caden Barnett, OT
Barnett is highly regarded as the best undrafted rookie free agent on the Bears, rolling into the 2026 season. He was a second-team All-Mountain West selection last season at Wyoming and should have been a Day 3 draft pick. With depth being a concern on the offensive line, Chicago might have a sleeper pick to develop into a future starter in the next few years.
Omari Kelly, WR
Kelly can do it all as a receiver and returner, which is something the Bears are looking to add to the roster. He's more of a slot receiver with his 6-foot size, but he can make plays and use his speed. The Bears are looking for young receivers to step up between WR3 and WR5, so Kelly could surprise a few people by making the roster.

Coleman Bennett, RB
Roschon Johnson is on the hot seat going into 2026, leaving the door open for Bennett to come in and take that RB3 job. Bennett rushed for 764 yards and four touchdowns at Kennesaw State last year, proving he can handle the workload. Last year, a seventh-round pick in Kyle Monangai became a great player for the Bears, so why can't Bennett do the same thing in 2026?
