It seems very clear among Chicago Bears fans who the team's favorite undrafted free agent is.
Wyoming offensive tackle Caden Barnett has gotten a ton of attention as a sleeper pick for being able to make the Bears' 53-man roster. The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner explained why he had Barnett as his choice for Chicago's best undrafted free agent.
"A long-armed lineman, Barnett was a two-year starting right tackle at Wyoming before finishing his career as an all-conference right guard. A former wrestler with big-time power in the run game, Barnett (6-3, 316) is a great mover who could compete for a roster spot."
Caden Barnett continues to be a popular choice for best UDFA
Last year with the Cowboys, Barnett posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 71.3, ranking 65th out of 686 offensive tackles in college football. He allowed 18 pressures, six quarterback hits, and one sack in 444 pass blocking snaps.
The main reason he's so popular right now is everything that is going on with the offensive line, specifically at left tackle. Ozzy Trapilo is injured and going to be out for the majority of the 2026 season, so they have to replace him with either Braxton Jones, Jedrick Wills Jr., or Theo Benedet.
Jones is expected to win the job, but Barnett might have a chance to compete for the backup job or at least be a perfect practice squad candidate for the team. Wills has missed a lot of time due to his injury in 2024, and Benedet showed flashes of being a great run blocker but struggled in pass protection.

Barnett should not be counted out for the Bears to make the 53-man roster, as he's got the skills to get it done, but he'll have a lot of work to do in order to outperform some already proven starters on the line.
